pregnant penguin

It's good to be back, and I'm back with some news. As the heading suggests, I am expecting a baby. The official due date is Dec 31. I'm hoping that baby doesn't arrive on Christmas or New Year's - it would be hard to share one's birthday with another major celebration - but I know that s/he will arrive at the time s/he deems best.

Now that the second trimester of pregnancy has begun, I'm feeling much better and able to get on with the task of blogging. It's great to have the news public, as it means that I can now blog about being pregnant, which is going to be a fairly big part of life in the next six months or so.

That said, I intend not to blog all the time about pregnancy, and will keep myself limited to a small number of baby-related posts per week. I'll also be including weekly reflections on the book of Hebrews, which I'm studying in depth this semester, as well as the usual random assortment of blog topics that many of you will be used to by now.

taking a break

The Pilgrim Penguin's health is on the improve, but I have realised that I need to take a break from blogging for a little while. I've missed a few weeks worth of work, and have a conference and holiday coming up in the next month. I plan to be back in action in late June.

If you'd like to be notified when I resume posting, do email me and I'll let you know when I'm up and running again.

an alternative to daytime TV

Still not quite there for posting on topics of substance. I've been whiling away time playing an online Mahjong solitaire game. (Beware pop up ads!) Daytime TV, apart perhaps from the odd cooking show, has really really lost its charm...

TPP's husband is also sick - his bug turned into laryngitis and a nasty cough. Good thing he isn't preaching this weekend.

Thankfully TPP's Mum has been round for a visit, so we now have enough food to feed a small army. She even brought a specially prepared vegetable bag for the bunnies! Very thoughtful.
